Fun to do with kids because it’s a single-bowl recipe that doesn’t require a mixer and the results are really good!
Best Ever Bruschetta
This is a nearly ingredient-for-ingredient recipe I found online for an unbelievably flavorful bruschetta. The title is not a lie — it is the “Best Ever.” π Be sure to use heirloom tomatoes for the best outcome, and if you like a fresher-tasting bruschetta, toss in a handful of chopped parsley.
Christmas Day Pancakes
The only reason these are called “Christmas Day Pancakes” is because we always make them on Christmas morning. Ha!
Pumpkin Layer Cheesecake
This is a combination of recipes I found online. Turned out pretty good, especially with the extra fixings! If you use the boiling water bath method to bake your cheesecake, you should have a perfect cake with no cracks.
Pineapple Star Cookies
These are a little bit labor intensive, but oh so worth the effort. They taste a little bit like a cross between a pineapple turnover and a croissant. I’m not joking.
Holiday Turkey
Still refining this recipe and will update it over the coming years. (You only make so many turkeys in your lifetime!) But this is the best I have so far, which is pretty good. π
White Chicken Chili
Very good white chili recipe. The lime juice gives this a unique savory flavor. Great with crumbled taco chips on top for a change of texture. VERY filling and perfect for a cool fall day.
Pistachio Ice Cream
I tried making this for the pistachio lover in our family, Aaron, but discovered this is one of my favorite ice cream recipes. π
Black Cherry Ice Cream
Your dad’s absolute favorite, first experienced at Handel’s in Fishers. I searched the Interwebs for a recipe that sounded about right and made some adjustments. We no longer have to pay $8.00 for a pint of black cherry ice cream at Handel’s anymore. π
Salted Caramel Ice Cream
This stuff is pretty darn good. Closer to gelato than ice cream in richness. A little goes a long way. You need an ice cream maker to create this creamy goodness.
Beef Sandwiches with Au Jus
I am adding this recipe for Alex, who seems to keep losing it. ;D
Italian Tortellini Soup
This is a delicious and hearty soup that isn’t too filling. It has lots of good stuff in it for you, too!
Vegetable Dipping Sauce
A family staple from the French side of the family. You can’t eat artichokes or asparagus without this!
Amazing French Baguettes
This recipe is from Uncle RenΓ© (Grandma’s younger brother) who was a baker by profession. I asked him for a French bread recipe, and he sent me this recipe for making dozens of loaves at a time (because that’s how bakeries do it)!
Quinoa Chili
New recipe posted by Aaron for some yummy sounding chili!
Egg Challah Braid
We originally bought egg challahs a Meijer, but they don’t have them at all of their stores. Just the one in Whitestown we’ve found so far. So I hunted for a recipe and found this one on the Cuisinart website. It is freakin’ delicious! Although it seems like a lot of steps, it is really easy to make using the food processor.
